I really wouldn't associate this place with fast food because they're SO much more! Authentic ingredients, moderate prices, and phenomenal service. This place is more like fast fine dining!
El Pollo Loco manages to stand in their own lane as their are serval El Pollo places. Loco offers grilled lightly seasoned fresh cantina flavored cuisine!
I usually get the Chicken Tostada Salad Bowl and am always very satisfied! I was gifted one for my birthday this year and it was the perfect healthy lunch! It comes with this avocado drizzle that is AMAZING!
This place can be compared to Chipotle with a more evident Spanish flare and is less costly!

We pass by this place all the time, it's conveniently located right off the highway. I have had their quesadillas and was never impressed. I gave them 3 tries, bc I really wanted to like them. The chicken quesadillas always had dark gristly meat (not a fan).
Today I gave this place another try and ordered something different. I got the double chicken bowl ($6.& change). It comes with chicken, avocado, beans, rice, cabbage, cheese, and pico. The chicken was white meat (thank goodness!) and well seasoned. They have a condiment bar for all your toppings/salsa. Some are kinda spicy so watch out! My only complaint was that they were a little skimpy on the cheese! Nonetheless, I enjoyed this meal much more than my past ones from this establishment and I would get this again. -

The chicken was nice and hot and tasted great. The lady who took our order was attentive and wanted to make sure we had exactly what we wanted. The salsa bar was clean and full. They also had jalapeños, which was nice. The charro beans were delicious nicely spiced with pieces of pork for flavor. We were asked if everything was good and observed them cleaning up and refilling things diligently while we were eating. A very good experience!!

I have been wanting to try El Pollo Loco since they came in the metroplex area. The flavor of the chicken was so freakin good It was like charred and juicy at the same time. I got the double chicken avocado salad and it was pretty good, I got it later at night so the lettuce wasn't as fresh as I'd like it but I took in account it was like 9pm, I was excited to try the salad dressing but it wasn't all that to me.
They are building a location closer to me and I cant wait to try all of the menu over time and see what else I like.
One thing I do like is they have different sides to try macaroni and cheese, chips and guac, coleslaw, beans, and side salad.
